This project was completed in two phases. The first stage focused on the area around the main house, summer kitchen, playground, and parking. The key task was to design a walkway from the parking area to the front porch that also worked as a smooth bike loop for the family’s young child. The path was planted with the homeowner’s favorite classics-hydrangeas, roses, hostas, and daylilies.
To unify the two parts of the property, we added gentle curves and branching garden paths, creating a slower, more immersive walking experience. Along the former fence line, new plantings blended garden textures with woodland character, forming a bright and natural “forest edge.”
A small seating area by the house became the family’s favorite spot—perfect for morning coffee surrounded by fragrant catmint and birdsong from the nearby woods.
